Michael Carter serves as Head of Investment Banking at Truist Securities where he leads Truist Securities’ Corporate and Investment Banking Coverage, Financial Sponsor Coverage, and Merger & Acquisition Teams.
Prior to joining Truist Securities in 2021, Carter worked at RBC Capital Markets, where he was Global Head of Technology Investment Banking. Prior to joining RBC, Carter was a senior leader in the global technology groups at Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers.
He has more than 30 years’ experience in investment banking, with an extensive background in complex mergers and acquisitions including cross border, strategic acquisition finance, public/ private equity and equity linked finance, leveraged & structured finance, and large corporate reorganizations.
Carter is a Coro Fellows Scholar and graduated from Harvard Business School with an MBA and received a BA from Washington University in St. Louis. He currently is a member of Wake Forest University School of Business Board of Advisors, an honorary board of director at Spelman College and formerly a Board of Director of CSI (ticker CSVI) and Washington University in St. Louis Board of Governors. Michael is also a longstanding member of The Executive Leadership Council.
