Darby Henley

As Senior Managing Director and Regional Director at Truist Investment Services, Inc. for the Metro Charlotte Market, Darby Henley has supervisory responsibilities for advisors in the western North Carolina and central and western South Carolina.

Darby began his career in 1988 in Birmingham, Alabama, with the Merrill Lynch Financial Advisor Training Program and was later a member of the Chairman’s Recognition Club, a producing sales manager, and a producing branch manager before passing the Assessment Center and moving into full-time management in January 2000. He then served as the regional sales manager in Indianapolis from 2000 to 2001, covering 13 states.

In 2001, Darby moved to Princeton, New Jersey, to lead the firm’s national teaming initiative and Practice Management Consulting Group, leading a team of consultants who trained and consulted with 12,000 financial advisors and managers on team formation, practice management, client service, and acquisition. From 2003 to 2011, he managed complexes in Texas and North Carolina—in 2006, he was ranked number one in the Southeast Division and number one nationally in 2008. He also served on the Complex Director Advisory Council to Senior Management (DACTM) from 2008 to 2011, including as chairman in 2010.

Darby joined Morgan Stanley in September 2011 as executive director for the Alabama Complex, which had failed its compliance audit and was ranked in the bottom 10% in overall performance. In his three years as manager, the complex was ranked in the top 20% each year, and he was named Manager of the Year for the Southeast Region in 2014. In 2015, he started with Truist as a Managing Director in Charlotte.
