Background

Walter Kennedy is a Managing Director and Financial Advisor with Truist Investment Services, Inc., and a part of the Kennedy/Long Group of Truist Investment Services, Inc. that offers clients more than 60 collective years of financial services, retirement planning, and investment management experience. His areas of focus span investment management, liability management, risk management and fiduciary services, and has earned the professional designation of Preferred Portfolio Manager (PPM). 

Walter's affinity for athletes and understanding of their complex, off-the-field financial challenges, led him to become a Registered Financial Advisor with the National Football League Players Association (This is not an endorsement of the NFLPA). He also serves clients who may not be “pros” on the athletic field, but are still “players” in all walks of professional endeavor, ensuring that they receive my focused financial coaching and guidance.

Personal interests

Walter Kennedy earned his B.A. and M.A. from North Carolina State University, with a concentration in sports management. While attending school, he captained the university’s tennis team and served as an assistant coach for the men's and women's teams.

He volunteers his time with The Charlotte Sports Foundation, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Charlotte Country Day School.
