Overdraft fees happen when you spend more than you have in your checking account—but you won’t get any with a Truist One Checking or Truist Confidence Account.

Overdraft services help make sure your transactions go through when you need them to. Here’s how they work:

Overdraft Protection^{Disclosure 1} Link another Truist account, like a savings account, to your checking account. If you overdraft your checking account, we’ll automatically transfer available funds to your checking account from the linked account to allow the transaction to go through. There’s no fee for this service.

Overdraft Coverage^{Disclosure 2} Allows us to pay ATM and one-time debit card transactions when your available balance can’t cover the transaction. You may be charged a $36 fee for each overdraft transaction—and can be charged up to three fees per day. If the original transaction amount is less than $5, we will not charge an overdraft fee.

Passcodes are an added security measure for online and mobile banking. If we detect unusual or suspicious activity at sign in, we'll send you a unique passcode by text or email to verify your identity. Make sure your phone number and email address are up to date in online banking.

To send a wire within the U.S., you’ll be asked to provide your name, complete street address, Truist account number, and crediting information. Crediting information includes your bank name, complete street address, and routing number, and the recipient’s name, complete street address, and account number.

Yes. Debit and ATM cards have daily purchase and withdrawal limits, which can be found in your Personal Accounts Fee Schedule. You can also get information on these limits by calling us at 844-4TRUIST (844-487-8478), or visiting your local branch.

On your personal checks, your routing number is the nine-digit number on the bottom left of your check. It’s followed by your account number, which is usually 13 numbers. You can also find it in your account information in online and mobile banking. Just select the account you need information for, and then select "View account details".
